I was born and brought up in the small valley town of Rhymney in the South Wales, famous for its poet Idris Davies; its brewery (alas no longer there); and the bells featured in the famous Bob Dylan folk song.

From an early age I became interested in photography and even considered it as a full time profession but was parentally encouraged to get a university degree in Zoology instead.

Most of my working life was spent in major London advertising and marketing companies which allowed me to be involved with the many genres of visual imaging. But my passion has always been for landscape photography as it allows me to spend as much time as possible in the wild outdoors, participating in my favourite activities – walking and kayaking.

To capture my images, I has traveled throughout the UK, Europe, Africa, the Far East, New Zealand and the USA. I have also written travel articles for magazines both in the UK and the USA.

Much of my latest work draws me back to my initial days of photography where the medium was black and white, but in all my visual interpretation I take inspiration from the natural world and I try to encapsulate its beauty and intricacy in my images.
