Agnis Smallwood
About
Agnis is an interdisciplinary designer maker who graduated in 2009,with a first class honours degree in Contemporary Applied Arts from the University of Cumbria. Agnis has since set up her own business and is focusing on her textile work from her studio at home in Leeds. She was also awarded Licentiate membership of the Society of Designer Craftsmen in July 2009.
Agnis takes the seemingly ordinary and often overlooked and finds in them an extraordinary beauty. She is interested and inspired by her natural surroundings, especially those plants and grasses that grow naturally on wasteland without any human intervention.
Agnis also delivers workshops within Yorkshire for adults and children of all ages. She delivers workshops regularly for home educated children, as well as private tuition. She is passionate about sharing and passing on the skills she herself has gained. Agnis also teaches at a High School in Boston Spa.
