Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Eric graduated from Michigan State University. Pursuing specialized studies at UCLA and University of Houston, he began painting oils and watercolors in 1976. In the late 70's he studied stained glass art at Bolton's, in Houston. During the 1980's he owned an art gallery in Houston, while exhibiting paintings nationally. In the 2000's, he changed his focus from Kandinsky-like paintings to the influences of Hoffmann, Richter, Appel, Kirkeby,Vedova, Francis and Lanyon. He calls his work the 4-F's, free form-free flow art.
