Born St Helens, Merseyside.My main researches in the last decade have been the exploration of relationship with colour. What drives the work is a diversity of interests: language [written and aural] and translation [this includes the languages of the visual, touch, smell and taste] logic, paradox, contradiction, fuzziness, people, set theory, an abhorrence of hierarchies, the concept of strange loops, why things are the way they are, culture, belief systems, narrative, uncertainty, chaos and colour. What I admire most of all, probably, is diversity. What I abhor most of all are all forms of ignorant, intolerance and prejudiced. Monotheistic or monolithic ideologies seek to suppress diversity. That is where my own intolerance sits in a very comfortable contradiction. Work has been exhibited throughout Europe and recently New York. My current work explores digital environments of colour.Everyone has something to say about colour. It is culturally objectified, measured, used as metaphor and an expression of self. However, its veracity is uncertain, exemplified by complementary afterimage. It has an empirical explanation and is a metaphysical language of culture, art and feeling. It transcends rational foundations. The works submitted are images from a virtual 3D environment based constructed solely on a colour geometry, The Haphazard Colour Machine.
