About

I am a British artist, born in 1973, who lives and works in London.

My work is an ongoing investigation into representations of the feminine and socially constructed, gendered identities to unsettle idealized romantic portrayals of femininity as found in Media and more traditional forms of representation. I am interested in the performative and participatory qualities of photography.

My most recent work is inspired by images my father took of Smithfield Meat Market in 1960. In this new series - All dressed up with nowhere to go, I have created my own version of the market today, using my father’s same Rolleicord camera and focusing on women and the nightlife in clubs, bars and lapdancing venues around Smithfield.
