Her textures, stratifications, matter solutions are charged with chromatic suggestions that remind to Italian painting of the early 20th century; this artist uses her works to talk and communicate to people, she spiritually grows and she expresses herself in such a way that her production puts on a singular reflection of her being, revealing an evident, fascinating restlessness in her personality. She get’s her technique from the knowledge of antique books dealing with the history of painting arts: the Naturalis Historia of Plinio il Vecchio, the Art Book of Cennino Cennini, as well as the modern “Colours Factory” of Corrado Maltese. In particular she has been very interested in the way one-time craftsmen used pigments and recipes which contained flour, sugar, honey, vinegar or adhesives obtained from cartilages of animals, wax used as protection, solvents, resins and oily binders. Her works are a personal recall to Nature, to her surfaces as areas of the earth where the environmental conditions allow the growth of life, surfaces as antroposphere and environment as result of man’s activity, a man who is a diabolic author of environmental disasters. “Nature has already invented what the artists invent in terms of shape and colours, surpassing the finest among them. “ Grammaire(1883-1884)-P.A.Renoir. The common theme of Comito’s works is connected to the research of new forms of transformation and interpretation of materials, always on the borderline between organic and technological way, environmental and urban one, nature and artifice. Landscape turns rich of spatial implications: broken up, studied into imperceptible details, reinvented with a personal interpretation to suggest feelings with singular immediacy.
