Roger's interest lies in an imaginative life class/ figure genre, where poses are not limited by capture time, and the subject, subjects exist within a context beyond the studio. That is the simple introduction of natural contextual interactions, together with some dynamic, both interpersonal as well as movement to a composition, which can he believes, add some poignancy to what otherwise are lifes often mundane scenarios.
Roger has enjoyed an International career in the design, development and management of real time system software and electronics, in the fields of early virtual memory mainframe design and development UK, through launch vehicle checkout and countdown systems FRG,to early microprocessor design and development FRG, early CGI collaboration FRG/USA, host system provision FRG, avionic operational flight peogram design and development FRG/UK & UK. for a number of years he was also International representative in the field of operational flight program design and development.
He has travelled and worked extensively in Europe and the States, read papers at International conferences in Europe and the States.
He has been granted patents in the fields of real time image processing, panoramic video capture and diagnostics,and also received a number of prizes and awards for imagery both in the UK and the USA.
He paints under his middle name, which he inherited at the request of his Great Great Aunt Helen, a spinster, and a nurse in the late 1800's and early 1900's. He believes that her photographs show that she clearly loved life, and humanity, and he is proud to honour her.
He enjoys the different challenges of introducing a context and dynamic to the life class genre.
