Raised in the United States (Utah), Godfrey graduated, cum laude, with a bachelor of arts before completing a masters degree and expanding his painting studies in Italy. He has participated in local, regional and international museum and gallery exhibitions and mounted significant solo shows. Godfreys paintings have garnered awards and been published broadly.
Brent Godfrey uses the painting process to translate objects, figures and landscapes into physical metaphor. Combining varying degrees of abstraction and representation, he explores identity and memory, interpersonal relationships, societal structures and global connections.
