Stian Heimlund Skjæveland (1973-) Aka Sheim of Norway. Norwegian figurative painter.
The inspiration is found in the tension between light and darkness, "In the darkness I find, in the light I create." The works attempt to express the infinite and timeless through concrete use of symbols presented in a parallel world.

Education
Formal background from Kunstskolen i Bergen (The Art School in Bergen), Merkantilt Institutt (MI) i Bergen, and Tegne- og maleskolen i Bergen (Bergen Drawing and Painting School), Norway.
After finishing formal education he independently studied the old masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Tizian, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Velazquez, Goya and Turner. Within a Norwegian context the mystical landscape visions created by Lars Hertervig has been closely examined.

As a creator of pictorials Stian has preformed for the last 19 years, and has been purchased by Mayor`s office, municipality of Strand, Norway and several commercial enterprises as well as private art collectors. He has undertaken travels of study to Rome, London, Barcelona and Copenhagen.
