Janna Popoff is a Canadian artist who was born and raised in a small community in the Southern Interior of British Columbia.
She began her art education in Nelson B.C at Kootenay School of Art and Design. After two years at KSA she moved to Halifax Nova Scotia where she completed her degree and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Fine Art from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. She then travelled and lived abroad for many years. While living abroad Janna continued painting, drawing and taking photographs. She developed a rich collection of visual images of the places she had seen and amazing people had she met.
Janna currently lives in British Columbia where she really appreciates the super natural landscape of the Kootenay Valley and dedicates herself to painting full-time.
At present the focus of her work is greatly inspired by colours in the changing seasons, clouds and landscapes. Her other focus is on toys and vintage toys. She is intrigued by memories that toys evoke and has been exploring this subject matter as well.
Janna has a great passion and love for painting and is most happy working on her canvasses.
She works in oil paint and wax encaustic on canvas/board and spends most of her days in her studio surrounded by trees, mountains and a river just across the way. …Read More
