About

Born, grew up and studied painting in Istanbul Turkey, I currently live and work in Vancouver. My work has been exhibited in several galleries and art shows in both Vancouver and Istanbul. Along my path, I learn about life mostly through drawing and painting. However while working I do not think. I stare into the blank surface until I see lines and points then I draw them as they appear on paper or canvas. I feel I fluently transfer the imagery revealed by personal and collective subconscious which I like to share.
My work aims to understand more about our complex nature and our relationships with all. I currently work on a few different series about people, I draw and paint both individuals and crowds. Observing nature and cityscapes inspires me and helps me to better study today's contemporary identities. Formless, deformed and reformed creatures in their landscapes reflect how we live now. Each figure apearing in my drawings and paintings has their own journey, however they come together and dance. By pulling and pushing each other, they create whole new forms of lives, composed by millions of others, acting in their own way, with specific personalities and stories of their own.
