Jo Mortimer studied at Plymouth College of Art & Design.
She first sold paintings in the 80's of a more traditional style for sale to tourists and commissioned paintings of local houses. She continued artwork throughout her life using a range of media. Having recently retired from a career in educational senior management, she has returned to her love of painting.
She finds inspiration particularly in the countryside and her garden overlooking the river Exe, as well as current international political and environmental events and news.
She has developed her style using inks sometimes combined with collage using Silver Birch pieces from the trees in her garden.
Her work is selling at a local and national level, with commissions in London, Liverpool and locally in Devon.
