My work is driven by the many places I have visited. Alaska is my favorite, but the Appalachians and Midwest play into some of my work also. By using a combination of photography and digital painting, I am able to give a very unique look to my work. Painstaking digital brushwork throughout a piece gives nice movement and flow that is hard to catch in a standard photograph. Photos that would normally have a nice look can be taken to a whole new level of appeal with painting look and composition.
I strive to make my artwork enjoyable at two levels. First, I want the observer to look at the painting and immediately enjoy it. Secondly, I want the viewer to be able to review the small brush stroke work that gives an appeal to the fine work and helps to make sure the overall photograph has a complete and enjoyable feel.
