Many of my paintings are a reflection of contemporary urban religious experience. I am particularly interested in religious identity in the postmodern era. As an observant Jew myself, my focus is on Jewish heritage. Through art, I want to show how religious life, though based upon a shared narrative, is ultimately experienced through the select context of personal imagination. I believe that imagination, as associative thinking, is in fact inseparable from perception, experience and meaning.
