About

The visual separation between the roughhewed child bodies with my detailed adult head references the diverse manner in which we see the world as we mature. The bodies purposefully simplified hinting at the innocent manner in which a child views their self-centric world, when their character has not been defined and everything seems fluid and possible. While the realism of the head reflects how adults see their world. An adult’s perspective is distorted by the minutiae of everyday life, they lack the freedom to imagine all things possible; intrinsically trapped by life’s prisons they’ve spent a lifetime building. A child has the autonomy to live life, while an adult lives to hold one together.
