Kate was born in Calcutta and spent her childhood there.
Since living in London she has successfully furthered her career as a painter.
This early experience of the vibrant colours and patterns of India have played a part in her exploration of colours and shape.
Later, a new influence, that of North Norfolk's unique atmosphere of sea and landscape, has inspired paintings of subtle and moody qualities where elements of description are mixed with expressionist mark making giving a strong sense of place.
These two sides of her painting combine in freer, purer abstract pictures where they finally resolve.
