I was born in southern Spain and have been living in London since 2001, when I came here to complete a degree at Central St Martins College.
My work is an interpretation of images from online and print media that I am instinctively drawn to. I also make use of collage to create my own unique compositions. This allows me to combine images from different genres and time periods, so that the finished work reflects the fact that contemporary is part of a continuum which contains and is influenced by the past. And besides being a snapshot of current events, it can also be an acknowledgement of the past and a glimpse into the future.
Rebecca Wilson, Director of Saatchi Gallery, recently organised a curators project on Saatchionline and my work was selected by the following respected international curators:
Nina Miall (Director Haunch of Venison), Nicolas Trembley (Curator Syz Collection), Matthias Harder (Chief Curator Helmut Newton Foundation), Cheryl Sim ( Curator DHC Art), Andrea Schlieker (Independent Curator), Paolo Colombo (Istanbul Museum of Modern Art), Cathy Lomax (Director Transition Gallery), Aoife Rosenmeyer (Independent Curator and art critic).
