Oscar Parasiego, born the 9th September of 1981 in Cangas de Narcea in Spain, starts his academic-artistic career in 2003 studying Photography & Lighting Degree at Oviedo University, as before that he had carried out some artistic projects autodidact. After finishing this degree, he spent a year working in the studio of the Cuban painter & photographer Jorge Alonso Molina, currently living in Asturias, and learning mixed techniques in photography & painting, and alternative photograph mediums. In 2007 he starts a Master Program in Artistic Photography in EFTI, Madrid, Spain, in which he graduates with honors. During this period he attends to several workshops with well-know photographers and artists such as Chema Madoz, Manuel Vilariño, Marcos López, Eugenio Ampudia, Miguel Oriola, José Ramón Bas, Ciuco Gutiérrez, Alejandro Castelote y Manuel Rufo, among others. In 2008 Oscar Parasiego participates in the Photography & Visual Arts Festival Foto España 08 with his works “Psycho Paintings”, and that same year he participates too in the Video art Óptica Festival 2008 with his video “Options”. That September he exhibits in El Dorado, Toledo, in a group exhibition. Afterwards in 2010, he publishes in the contemporary photography magazine “10X15” with an article about his series “Psycho Paintings” followed by collaboration with the Photography Foundation PH15 during his stay in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
