I am an artist living in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. I work in clay and pastels. Mostly sculptures but also free formed vessels in clay. I love pit firing or smoking these to form a rich pattern on the burnished surface. My pastels are done over a monoprint to give them richer textures.
I am passionate about the environment and my concern for our environment and animals under threat of extinction is reflected in my work.
I had a sold out exhibition in 2010 and one sculpture was sold to the William Humphreys Gallery in Kimberley for their permanent collection. I am currently woking on a commission for the Red Location Museum. I was chosen as one of ten artists to do work to start their permament collection for the new art gallery which is currently under construction.
I work from a studio at my home. I have had work selected for exhibitions with the Ceramics South Africa regional exhibitions and Expressions 2012 at the National Arts Festval in Grahamstown, South Africa this year.…Read More
