Photographs trapped me being just a little girl. In fact, they did it forever. That’s why I’ve decided to study Visual Arts at the UANL Facultad de Artes Visuales In Monterrey, I've began working as a professional photographer in 2002 being a student and received my degree two years later on 2004. Photo films turn me always up, they are my passion. My tools: a 35mm Nikon and an old 120mm RolleiFlex.
As you can see I always work only with photo film cameras. For me it is the way to preserve photograph in its own originality and maintain the pureness of photography without any digital manipulation; all my work is without Photoshop editing. My personal taste.
In my work I use rich colors that produce different worlds; portraits where there’s always an underground ¨model¨. The fashion word; the glamorous of the 50´s, Elvis Presley, pop art; these themes are also combined with the reality of Mexican young people, they are and were part of an old school fantasy. I always shoot a model in my photos to create series and tell a story, influenced by the cinema, one biggest influences on my work… I am a dreamer, love visual arts… I try to create not just for me… I want people be attracted to my work.
