Soon after I was born in Santa Ana, California in 1939 my family and over 12,000 other Japanese Americans were evacuated to relocation camps until WW 2 was over. When I was 10 years old I lived almost independently until I got married in 1971.
At age 14 my art teacher encouraged me to explore my artistic potential and teach my peers to become better artist. Since then I have continued to explore the unlimited potentual of drawing and painting as a means of creating and composing visual images that have an essential life energy we all possess.
I am grateful to be able to learn from the many past great master artists and witness what today's contemporary artist are creating every day.
A Bachelor of Art Education from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1961. Masters degree in the Science of Art Education from the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology in 1969, I exhibited at the Navy Pier, University of Illinois Exhibition in Chicago, Illinois in 1961 and sold my copper sculpture entry.
