About

Penelope Oakley (UK)
Born in England in 1966 Brighton based Artist Penelope Oakley.
Her distinctive style is born from the freedom of over 20 years exploring different techniques in painting, drawing, sculpture and digital art by self-educating.
Artist’s Statement
Penelope is inspired by the beauty of nature and of the human spirit that surrounds us. The desire to express not purely the external beauty but that which lies beyond and within. Her love of languages too, primarily latin and her interests in classical studies reflects also in the timeless quality of her paintings and art.
“To any artist, worthy of the name, all in nature is beautiful, because his eyes, fearlessly accepting all exterior truth, read there, as in an open book, all the inner truth.”
Quote from Auguste Rodin

Member of The Energy Art Movement
Critical Reviews:
An intellectual contemplative which observes with noble calmness the furious overlap of trends and time, securing their motivations and the validity of an original visual language, her art is recognizable and stylistically consistent.

The talents of Penelope open the doors to a well-deserved affirmation of commitment and capacity. In her works of the visionary - who can project their creativity beyond the ordinary in the world of dream and fantasy.
