Born in Kent in 1937 I served in British Army and then French Foreign Legion where I was shot. Later in a military hospital in Marseilles I began to put down some of my thoughts about my life up to that time. They were in doodle form but influenced by the early Cubists and my stay in France..... Returning to England I settled down working on stained glass and armorial painting and wrought iron fabrication, before retiring with ill health in 2001..... It was then I started to paint again and in 2004 I put down my first works based upon those doodles done in 1966...searching for the right medium ,support and developing my style... Painting has given me a new lease of life and such a buzz ... First canvases were completed in 2009/2010/2011 but by then I was having problems standing over my canvases, so I bought a digital drawing pad...this allows me to sit and draw or paint, plus I don`t spill a drop !... Although the medium is digital . I still Paint in a similar way.
