I live in a society where few of us can be ourselves. I am subjected to condemnation by politically correct liberals and held in suspicion by conservative fundamentalists. Controversial topics are often taboo at the dinner table; yet uncontroversial art is considered boring. A controversial artist is considered to have an edge; a controversial guy next door is to be avoided. It is a constant struggle to be myself and not be labelled something that I am not.
Exploring various tangents to identity my work investigates issues of gender, ideology, sexuality, spirituality and the tendencies of violence in our society. I constantly look to blur the line between art, life and critique. I don't want to be confined by social constrictions. I believe in questioning the "Status Quo" every single day in my life through artistic expression. I am intrigued by process. I use all sorts of tools, techniques, surfaces and mediums to get my point across.
