Self-taught artist Maura Satchell fell in love with the camera's viewfinder at an early age. She only began laying paint to canvas and paper with the help of library books and great Nashville teachers and mentors after her two sons completed multiple wartime tours in Iraq. Art became her preferred form of therapy and her escape.
She makes art with a robust fascination for new processes, unrestrained and curious to try all. She is fortunate to have shown her art in Nashville, San Francisco, Edinburgh, Scotland and Dusseldorf, Germany. Her works are among private and commercial collections on three continents. She creates in her home studio awash with northern-facing light. Email: Maurasatchell@gmail.com
