I use themes of culture, time and space, often referencing literature, specifically those of the Persian mystics. In these literary pieces, ideas about the universe vs the human and how the two combine are commonly written about and I love to represent this in a dream-like way through the use of painting and drawing. Although my work is mostly realistic, I try to present the piece not in terms of "reality" but rather a fantasy, falling towards magic realism. My creations aren't critical of people, but rather a celebration; glorifying the human figure, the individual, the cultures of the world, bringing them all together to present a story.
