ManchesterDegree BAHons Fine Art Painting at The University centre of Worthing, Sussex (Affil.Brighton University)Memory & Loss are the focus of my art and I take much of my inspiration from disused buildings and industrial sites.Degree works of screenprints & etchings are based on Geevor Tin mines in Cornwall and used as a metaphor for the holocaust and destroyed communities. More recent abstract works result from taking my drawings or photographs as a starting point, the resulting paintings are not a literal description of a place, more about my initial experience. It is about capturing something of the memory of being there; a certain feeling associated with the weather and sensations of nature or the atmosphere of buildings.
