Mark Horder is a scientist. His paintings are another way for him to run experiments, collect data, and archive results. He is for allowing the materials to speak for themselves. He is for collaborating with forces that operate on their own behalf. He is for microscopic detail that answers macroscopic questions. He is the author, set designer, and co-director in an ongoing play in his laboratory.
Born and raised in Europe up into his teens, Mark immersed himself into 90's American hip hop culture, skateboard culture, and became an expert cultural analyst of American pop culture by the age of 11. By thirteen, Mark had already been published by three journals in Europe and even one in Asia. At 17, he re-located to Los Angeles with his family. He currently lives and works in the Inland Empire.
Mark has exhibited his work in Los Angeles, New York, Europe, and Asia.
