H. Machado Rico was born in 1942 in Algeria.
Design,publicity and illustration in Paris.
She has been painting and drawing since her childhood.
I do aim at feisty pictures, I want them to make us look at strange and wonderful things In this thoroughly sunny, vegetal universe made of dreams, every figure has been thought from the promise of happiness which it is making up. Sometimes hands are full of hearts, eyes are often turning into flowers. To be aware of ones own weakness, to carry on however wishing to sing the blessing of lifecould be a definition for Machados work.

Doubtless, each painting by Huguette Machado Rico is a small poem dedicated to the bliss of painting a small music of happy life but it is there that one can see that felicity in expression is laying in the coherence of a language where words and syntax crossbreed and regenerate one another, as if they were still in the land of simple hearts of their original garden.
