(1954, Ankara)

Born in Ankara, Turkey in 1954, Baykara graduated from Ege University in 1980, where he studied of Chemistry. The artist has worked with master painter Asim YUCESOY for many years.

Baykara prefers to use his imagination instead of models. His paintings, have received major attention and positive critiques in Turkey and abroad.

Three of his paintings have been printed as the cover of two books by Prof. Dr. Nejat Akar and an encyclopedia by Middle East Technical University (METU). Two paintings of Baykara have been acquired by Hamiye Colakoglu Museum at Bilkent University.

Additionally two watercolor paintings of Baykara took part in an art book” World Wide Art Books - International Contemporary Masters 2010 “ which printed in USA.

In 2002, Aydin Baykara constructed a website http://www.turkishpaintings.com aiming to introduce the Turkish art and the artists to the world.

Baykara is an associate member of the American Watercolor Society, a member of the International Association of Art (UNESCO-AIAP), United Painters and Sculptors Association (BRHD) and GESAM. He has had 22 solo exhibitions and 53 group participations.

Education

He graduated from Ege University Faculty of Chemistry in 1980.

Aydin Baykara has been invited to become as Sustaining Associate to AMERICAN WATERCOLOR SOCIETY which was established in 1866.

Two of Baykaras paintings have been printed as the cover of the books A Woman Surgeon in Igdir - Yildiz Yalcinlar and 1939 New York World Fair and Turks by Prof. Nejat AKAR.

Aydin Baykara constructed a registered website: http://www.turkishpaintings.com in 2002, aiming to introduce the Turkish artists and their arts to the world and joined many worthy Turkish artists on the website.

The artist, who has worked with master painter Asim YUCESOY for years and developed his artistic capability with the help of such masters as Sabahattin Sen, Ziver Oncel, Cemal Guvenc and Sabri Akca, now continues his work in his own studio. Baykara is a Sustaining Associate Member of the American Watercolor Society, United Painters and Sculptors Association and GESAM.
