born 1968 in Coburg, Germany. I've always been interested in design and art, after studying architecture I started working as an artist in 2003.
I isolate my work out of the raw material of reality. This means to separate the work piece out of the matter. The photographs of reality are my tools and not the vanishing point of my composing work. To prevail the photographic process, negotiating the pure technique, is my request. By showing the space between times, I renounce the expectation of reality, which has been adhered to photography all the time.
The pieces of art illustrate an imaginative power and formal strength which is shown by the enclosed silence. Although they are grounded in the image of reality, they have a narrative character by using typical formal and aesthetic combinations of pictures.
This causes a subjective understanding of the objects by combining pictures in an unusual context with the imaginary power of the single picture. The result of abstracting the glance on our environment shows the structures, which hold the bowels of the world together.
In my work you can find strength, power and contemplation at the same time, to blow away all conventions on images you have. This confirms, that the world in which we live, is something precious, designed by human beings.
So the landscapes show not only the stability of a structured regulation, a nearly woven like plain, but also contemplative silence right in the urban jungle with it’s hectic, noise and speed.
