A Finnish artist dealing with urban spaces; lights, reflections and the dynamics. Catching these special moments on canvas, discovering the urban spaces from a teddy bear perspective in her videoart and let the creatures come out of the wood in her sculptures.
The urban spaces; lights, reflections and the dynamics have always fascinated me. In my own work I have tried to catch these special moments, the motifs and atmospheres of a city.
The dynamics are most of all represented in the Voyager-series.The paintings are dealing with the contrast of dynamic and calmness, the contradiction between the fast changing views in the front and the calm and steady horizon in the back.
The urban space has an important role also in my video art, although in a little bit different way. The city is explored now from the viewpoint of a little teddy bear. The audience is confronted with the details in the streets and facades. All videos can be seen at http://vimeo.com/kikiart/videos
