Born 1952 Ex graphic designer/illustrator.Now artist/sculptor, 2008/09 Post Grad Tutor, Cyprus College of Art. I carve in limestone mostly, work is about the distillation of things...objects, stories, landscape. the human figure.Often sensual to touch and sight. After many years I have started drawing again, I mean more than life drawing for carving...but drawings in colour, it must be Cyprus, dreams so intense perhaps its the wine!
Now based in the Creative Quarter in Folkestone, Kent UK. Increasingly drawing with oil pastel...narrative abstraction and figurative works are taking over, expressing my dreams, people and places...I follow my instincts, working with saturated colour. I have no idea where this might lead!
...It seems to have led to 'Birds', recently I have been working on a series of sculptures, not in stone but made from scraps, found objects, kebab and lolly sticks and plaster. The first was inspired by the Herring Gulls here in Folkestone.
