About

Jordan Dunlop painting practice has grown from a narrative themed inspired from pop culture, history, film, and local urban environments. Work changes based on current Ideas and inspirations which are constantly changing and growing. Places which has help Jordan grow as an artist is Nova Scotia College of Art & design in Halifax where he pursued a four year BFA majoring in Painting. A life changing experience which had a profound effect on Jordan is London, England where he developed artwork, shown and also worked in major art galleries In England.

In recent paintings Jordan catalogs his explorations derived from observing Toronto’s urban as well as hidden landscapes.
Inspired by pedestrian encounters with urban infrastructure, he is interested in concealed, derelict as well as recently gentrified spaces of Toronto.
Utilizing expressive painting as well as figurative representation, Jordan records both what is seen and what is experienced.
