I always enjoyed painting and drawing from a very early age. For me, it was a form of entertaintment. One minute I was a fighter pilot shooting down a Stuka dive bomber, and the next I was either riding the range or deep sea diving. Birthdays and Christmas provided supplies of pencils, paints and sketch books which were always eagerly received.

When I was old enough to ride my bike out of sight of my Mother and home in Perry Mead, Holtwhites Hill, I spent hours and hours in the Enfield Town reference library. It was here that I discovered the huge volumes of art that were to kindle my more serious interest in art and painting. I came to admire the energy and invention of Picasso, the outstanding technical brilliance of the watercolour master, J.M.W. Turner, and the dark imagination of Salvadore Dali. These visionary giants influenced my love of art and provided the inspiration that made me want to paint.

I specialise in the use of water based media. I spent the last three years examining watercolour techniques we use today with the aim of making watecolour more controllable and predictable. I invented a simple device called the Watercolour Charger which the artist makes for themselves. I feel it will make a significant contribution to the world of watercolour painting by extending the range of techniques and promoting further innovation in this exciting field of art. There has never been anything like this device before. It is a totally new, original "Off the Wall" development which will provide both the novice and experienced watercolour painter with an exciting new painting experience. Painting from the imagination is my main aim, where I attempt to invent original imaginative images which have not been influenced by anything I have been exposed to. I find that trying to be totally original is one of the most difficult of things to do which is why I have deep admiration for the work of Picasso.
