I have worked with paintings and sculptures for 27 years (since 1982). I started as a woodcarver and then I learnt many techniques, specially the cement sculpture and oil on canvas. Although these techniques are different in expression, I feel comfortable with both of them.
In 2006, I started to try digital art that is directly made with software. In my opinion, digital art is expressively similar to the traditional painting techniques. Many times, a digital painting seems to have been made with brushes and paint, for example. I am not a traditionalist or even an apocalyptic. I believe that the traditional techniques are going to live together with the new digital techniques, as it has always been in art history.
All my work is based on how I imagine and intuit the human being. I am not able to work on a made-to-order basis, unless this order consists of total freedom. I am not able to dream the peoples dream. Even though my paintings seem to show the opposite, I do not make an art of social denunciation. I define my work as a result of moving imagination, that is, as a fruit of the attention I dedicate to the flow of images running on me that are emotionally tinged by the human drama, poverty and cheap fun.
