b.1936 Greensburg, Pa. Began life with great parents who encouraged me in every interest I had....painting won out!Before the painting won out, I did watercolors for 16 years.Then while living in Puerto Rico I discovered the awesome Bioluminescence present in water while night fishing...had to try and express this miraculous beauty...bought oil paint and made many a bad attempt! Also wrote poetry(still do today..some giving ideas for a painting), sculpted, did loads of hard edge drawings, wrote songs etc..and now I mainly do free form acrylic/gel abstract paintings...I paint on canvas, wood, lexan,paper or directly on the plastic which I have placed on the floor... I am inspired by the paint and the color and what the color does when it shapes itself...as it oozes over the surface...I love the unexpected to happen.. all my emotions are let loose by this free way of working... I also do environmental jewelry..miniature paintings...from recycled plastics..often going to schools and encourage the children to create their own art from the left over plastics: fishing line, six-packers, yogurt tops, slides, etc...this began in 1987, when my family and I were on a dive trip with Jean-Michel Cousteau...his message of how our oceans are being ruined by the plastics dumped into them inspired me...to dosomething about it.... … Read More
