Paintings made thruough critical observation of Israeli people and society. my work has focused on taking a fresh look at the complexities of Israeli society, particularly around people who are in transition and seeking a new identity - Russian and Ethiopian immigrants, refugees, and others. Through my work, I try to expose the tyranny of social conventions; varying from those that can be found in traditional Ethiopian culture to modern Israeli society, which, like in many Western cultures, has created unrealistic role models for beauty, driving young woman to extreme situations of self mutilation (e.g., anorexia, plastic surgeries).
