About

The figure is my main area of interest. I am intrigued by the everyday life of people and the face of an individual. Part of my work is to capture snapshot moments of people as they go about their lives. It is important for me to capture the atmosphere of these moments and make the viewer feel as if they are looking at a moment in time, not simply a painting of people. The other part of my work is focusing entirely on the face. I like to really scrutinise the face whether through paint or stitching. To me the face is the key to just how a person is identified but about who they are as a person which interests me greatly. I was shortlisted for the 2012 Jack Goldhill Painting Prize.
