Born 1974B.A. Hons in Ceramics with Glass at The Buckinghamshire College of Higher Edication 1997Mdes specialising in Blown Glass at The Edinburgh College of Art 2001Dominic has been assistant to Catherine Hough, Steven Newell and Iestyn Davies among others. He is currently based in Singapore where he is a freelance glass artist and thye only proffessional glass engraver working in the country. The primary aim of his work is to explore the blown glass vessel as a container for thoughts and emotions. This is done through drill engraved short stories. Dominic also takes great inspiration from collaborating with other artists. Over the years he has worked with groups as diverse as primary school children and haiku poets. Artists he has collaborated with include, Amy Christie, Sallie Robertson and Jennifer Walsh. At present he is developing a project titled "Birdsong" with glass artists Kathryn Pearce, Mai Miyake and Yuki Nishiyama.

Events

Birdsong.
Birdsong is a collaborative exhibition featuring art by Dominic Fonde, Kathryn Pearce, Mai Miyake and Yuki Nishiyama. The work was made during a residency at The Toyama Glass Studio, Japan in April and May 2010 and has been shown in Toyama Japan, Singapore and Northlands Creative Glass in Scotland. The exhibition tour will conclude at Sculpture Square in Singapore in May 2011
