Born in Chicago, 1941. Worked and studied calligraphy in Japan for seven years. My work combines printmaking, East Asian calligraphy, newspaper images, and unconventional mark-making inspired by the stuff of ordinary life. Prior to making art my full-time endeavor in 2003, spent more than 30 years as a journalist in Tokyo, Chicago and Silicon Valley.
