1974, Orange, CA. I am classically-trained painter, with a background in Anthropology as well. After a journey into the world of abstraction I returned to naturalism for a spell and now abstraction has reared it's beautiful head again. My main motivation is to uncover the hidden realms that dwell within me and express them right when they enter into my consciousness. My present work is like a puzzle that is never to have all of its pieces. We are inundated with a reality that isn't so pretty, isn't so nice, and we process this so-called "reality" as a book full of passages that we might read one day. For now, we perceive the world in ways that make it easier for us to live. There are dualities that intrigue me so, like creation and destruction, barriers and freedom, the sense of being insulated within a bubble of security and being completely vulnerable to this life that speeds by.
