Robyn Nesbitt, born in 1984, has an MFA from the University of Cape Town and lives in Johannesburg. In her work she observes the everyday, paying particular attention to details and events that may normally be overlooked. This work is from a series entitled 'In the Garden', about "the fear of forgetting", in which she attempts to hold on to old companions: the family dog, Christmas holidays, garden hide outs and parrot conversations. This piece is available as a video (dimensions variable) and also as a photograph. Robyn has exhibited locally and internationally with recent group shows at Fort Worth Contemporary Arts Gallery, Texas, Galleri 3,14 Bergen, Norway, Mixtape, Mobile Cinema National Arts Festival, Grahamstown, and Contemporary South Africa ISIS Arts DA International Digital Art Festival, Newcastle, UK.
