Latimer is fascinated by abandoned devices and intrigued by the readiness with which culture disposes of perfectly good and useful creative tools. She collects old antique/ analog film cameras (motion and still), expired polaroid films, old abandoned photographs, unwanted slides, negatives and motion pictures.

Using several experimental techniques (such as direct animation, hand processing and manipulation, video to film transfers and cross-format/ multi-format transfers) Latimer uses this abandoned photographic material to re-contextualize and re-vitalize discarded moments and forgotten histories.
