Christopher Gallego was born in New York in 1959. He studied at the national Academy of Design and the Art Students League, both in New York.

A partial list of exhibitions include Hirschl & Adler Modern, Seraphin Gallery, the Arkansas Arts Center, the Brandywine River Museum, the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Cincinnati Fine Art Museum and the Rockefeller Fund.

He is the recipient of fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, the Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation, the Pollock Krasner Foundation and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
