Born in Arpino (Frosinone) ITALY Carlo FANTAUZZI personifies in his temperament the ancestral history and culture of an area that descends from an ancient civilisation. It is through research that his paiting brings its needs to life. Existence, opposing itself to finality and death, becomes an extraordinary power through the roots it has in the emotion that animates one’s imagination. It evolves into a presence of spirit, where light and sound are as one and the “hand” dreams about and subsequently finds symbols of entirety. His research fractures the usual approach of criticism, thus permitting the need of being to emerge, along with a human energy that is able to redeem his painting from the mortification of criticism and re-establish it as a principle of life.Total devotion, decisive in painting, becomes the assertion of human power in existence, manifest beyond false identity and giving guidance through experience to those who are in his condition.
The force of rehabilitation and therapy soar high as a paradigm of truth, authenticity and spirit; “a code of spirit” in which communicability can be defined as image and visual language. It is within the peace and simplicity of his life and family that this artist from Arpino also lives the chaotic ferment of everyday existence, fighting against difficulties and transforming sufferinginto beauty. It is absurd that his work should remain within the boundaries of the provincial area, not able to find the spaceit merits through the values, message of faith and vision that it confers.
