About

Wandering about, lost, guessing my way through city and nature sceneries, I capture moments, odours and colours and am attracted to odd happenings. I give those impressions time to ripe, to become intense feelings and emotions and then, spread them out on canvas.
My wanderings become painted stories to be imagined, adventures to lose oneself in.

Often, I take photographs during those 'trips'. They are my support to start off a work as well as they are an additional experience and tool to express myself.

When I work on a painting, drawing or collage, the mood I am in determines the colours, darkness or brightness.
I start working on the images. Throughout the process these images fade away and become abstract moments. I enjoy the process of revealing and hiding the impressions that the city has given to me, the process of building and taking down and building back up again. That’s how a city grows, that’s how my work grows.

Living and making my art allows me to switch off from reality and to surrender myself to all these sensations and feelings. I'm far away transforming them into visual pleasure and feel light hearted when I've made my statement.

When I feel free, the moments become endless time, open spaces. When I'm tight, the moments will be framed, time stops, the experience stops.
When I get stuck and am empty of muse, it is high time to get out again, loosing myself in the impressions around me.

My work consists of oil / acrylic / printing ink paintings on canvas or paper, collages and photographs, small to large sizes.
I'm available to work on commission.
