THE ART OF FOUND OBJECTS
In 1997 I made the transition from film producer to photographer. My early work sought a unique response to nature and architectural form through hand-cut photographic collage.
Recently I have moved into the realm of abstraction, producing work that is more about texture, colour and composition and less about representational subject matter. Most often I explore with my camera in salvage, train or ship yards - anywhere I can shoot rusted metal or weathered and painted wood. There is a fascination I find in documenting man-made materials, where once constructed, will spend the rest of their lives attempting a return to nature. I focus in very close to a subject and photograph only the surface, removed from any contextual reference, with the objective of creating a painterly, abstract effect.
Photographic collage is resurfacing in my recent work, utilizing my images of abstract textural surfaces.
My latest focus has been photographic experimentation with distortion and "painting with light" techniques. I continue to explore my passion for black and white photography.…Read More

2010 MUNGE LEUNG DESIGN purchased 2 large photographs for a contemporary boutique hotel opening in Toronto, Canada.
2009 MATTHEW FINLASON, host of HGTV’s ‘The Stagers’, used 2 large photographs in an episode designing a $3.3 million Vancouver condo. In 2010 Matthew purchased 2 pieces for the lobby of the condo complex he lives in.
2008 - 2011 the television series 'GREY'S ANATOMY' (ABC Studios, Los Angeles) displays 4 photographs: 'Rust Never Rests' (48 x 60) on the Surgical Lobby set
2008 The new NITA LAKE LODGE built in Whistler, Canada for the 2011 Olympics, purchased 4 photographs for their lobby and fine dining room.
