Description: Portraits of Liberian civil war refugees, taken in Monrovia by the artist after being held hostage by rebel leader Charles Taylor. The photo portraits are bound with duct tape and rope to painted corrugated steel sheets, holding bags of North American groceries (both fresh and packaged) within. This wasted surplus food held within the sculptures continued to spoil during the length of exhibition, stressing the gravity and immediacy of the Liberian situation. Exhibition proceeds to the U.N.'s World Food Program.
