Powerful abstract redwood sculpture featuring two boldly angled, elongated forms which appear to ascend in a reclining position above a sinuous root structure. A third smaller figure with an extended protrusion rests diagonally upon the lower one. The three abstract wood forms are combined to represent a conceptual family, blending together in harmony. Striking polished, angular forms contrast with the flowing irregular organic redwood counterparts producing a visually exciting design structure.
This abstract redwood sculpture has been composed with individual redwood burls which have been carved with chain saws, shaped with grinders and hand crafted to further enhance the forms. The wood components have been sprayed with a durable clear oil producing a matte finish which enhances all the natural colors and exotic grain patterns. Each sculpture is totally unique and cannot be duplicated. All of the natural redwood used to create these sculptures has been reclaimed from fallen trees which have been victimized from winter storms, landslides or forest fires, therefor no living trees have been utilized.
All sculptures are signed and numbered by Daryl Stokes and include an artist certificate of authenticity.
